About This Theme:
( Please let me know about any mistakes in grammar . I’m not so good at English but I’ll try to fix them ) Plainbox Bata1.0 is mostly K2, just with some minor design tweaks here and there. This is my Second times making a wp theme . I am not a programmer, so, maybe I’ve got many mistakes in this theme, If anybody found a mistakes , please tell me and i will try my best to fix them.

**NOTE** This is not a style for k2, it is meant to be installed as a stand-alone theme. Requires WordPress 2.0 or higher.

Features :
Here’s a list of the major features K2/ Js Theme has to offer. Though for those who understand code, we recommend spending a little while to get to know the K2/ plainbox codebase, it has a few secrets here and there.
- K2 Options Page: Write a blurp about yourself for the frontpage. Choose between traditional or livesearch. Set up the Delicious plugin without editing code. Create an archives page which employs the LiveArchives plugin. Select from dropdown between custom CSS files. This is what the options page does.
- Livesearch: K2/ plainbox comes bundled with an AJAX-powered livesearch solution which works out of the box. No setting up, no code editing, it just works.
- Live Commenting: AJAX-powered commenting; smooth, sexy, cyber. The technology of yester-year right here and now!
- Plugin Support: K2/plainbox has code in place for supporting a wide range of useful plugins. All you have to do is upload and activate the plugins you want to use (pick from the list below).
- Page Menu’s: Ehm… menu’s.
- Page Templates: If you want to have comments on a static page or set up a nice archives page, it’s a little bit easier with plainbox ’s page templates.
- Author Comments Highlighted: What it says. The author of an entry has his comments highlighted.
- Content Style:

hello, thx for sharing this wonderful theme with us. it took a lot of time i think, especially the tutorial in english, you made it well
those days past christmas i have minor problem to reach your place here. it took a very long loading time, more then 300s until your page has been up and shown. i lost some speed i think, probably the routing to you sucks badly at the moment.
but, i am glad to play around a lot tonight, awesome work - for me the best theme this year

It’s good to see this finally released. I’ve updated my plugins, yet I’m still having a few problems.
If you take a look at the main page, I’ll take you through them: http://www.dialectic.org.uk/ck
1) What files do I edit in order to shorten or lengthen the number of ‘Recent Posts’ and ‘Popular Posts’ shown in the sidebar?
2) The ‘Links’ section in the header takes me to a page that no longer lists them.
3) Nothing shows up in the ‘Sidenotes’ section. I have set Wordpress to ‘Inline’ Asides, and added a category, yet the posts in that asides category aren’t showing. Does it have to be a category named ‘Asides’, as mine is labelled ‘Quick Thoughts’?
4) The ‘Blogroll’ shows a similar problem to ‘Links’; The Blogroll that is showed is displaying only 3 of about 15 links that should be there.
Other than those four things, everything’s working very nicely.
Any ideas on how to fix these issues?

1. You have to edit the file: themes/plainbox/addon/recent.php
Edit the number in the last line.
3. You have to edit the file: themes/plainbox/addon/sidnote.php
Edit the name of the category .
I have one qestion: How do you set the Wordpress to ‘Inline’ Asides?

Very nice theme you’ve made. I had a question on how to set up the links the way you have. For one I’m using favicache plugin anf i cna get both the favicon and the name of the link to show up at the same time. And second when I go to my blogroll on the bottom only one link shows up. I know it’s something really simple. can someone please give me a kick in the right direction..thanks.
Really All I want is to be able to have both the tittle of the link and the image to show up next to each other. For some reason I can only get one or the other to display but not both together. Any assistance would be appreciated. Thanks.
This is a great theme! Thanks for sharing it! I’ve just started using it on my blog and have finally gotten things working somewhat smoothly. So far, there are really only two things that have me stumped:
1.) Noteworthy Posts - I have the plugin installed, have a category called Noteworthy, have edited Noteworthy.php so that the code includes the correct category #, but still, my Noteworthy Posts don’t show up in the sidebar.
2.) Comments Tab - The Comments Tab at the bottom of my mainpage is working, but it’s a little messy - the link hovers mess things up.
Do you have any suggestions?

Very nice Theme, but how do I get the “Blogroll”-Entrys into my Sidebar? I have 2 Entrys, but they are shown
nowhere.
My second question: How can I delete the “Flickr- LastFM” thing out of the page?

Great design, Jay! I’m really enjoying this template.
A few questions if you have the time:
(1) On your JS.blog, how did you get the “About me” / “Recent Works” / and “ToDo List” in three columns? In my blog, they are listing as entire rows instead of in three columns.
(2) I am sure this is probably really easy, but how do you start a “ToDo List”? Is this another plug-in?
(3) How do I get the “guest book” to be besides “Recent Comments” in the Comments sub-content? Nothing is showing up for me.
I am sure I will have more questions, but for now I would appreciate any help on this, thank you!

I’m not Jay, but I think I can help you out with this one. I just figured it out and am pretty proud of myself.
In the main folder for [plainbox], look for the SUB-CONTENT.PHP file. If you explore it a little, you can see that the .php files listed in the Sub-Content.php file references the various other .php files in the in the ADDONS folder (also in the main Plainbox directory). So basically if you copy the reference within the .php file and paste another ADDON .php file to that, then you’ll see the contents at the bottom of your mainpage change, too.
Does this make sense?
So open the Sub-Content.php file and really start reading the code and you’ll see what you need to make your changes.
**Also, I think exploring the ADD-ONS folder with all the various .php files will help you with your question about deleting the Flickr/last.fm thing out of the page. All you may need to do is go into the Sub-Content.php file and just delete the references for that tab and replace it with something else.

Hi Jay, first of all thanks for making such a nice theme for WP, I’ve looking for a good one for weeks, and now (finally) found yours.
My questions are:
1) HOW TO use the Enyoing / Sidenotes / Comments / Blogroll stuff at the bottom of the blog. I mean, I could set up the “Enjoying” but then nothing apperars in the other three. And, If I want to add one, how do I do it?
2) How do I configure the flickrRSS thing. It seems it’s resizing the pics by HTML (my english sucks, sorry)… I mean, It´s like the pic is 100×100 and the HTML says 70×70 so it looks pretty awful.
3) My blogroll is empty.

And, I forgot to tell you, get_links replaced wp_list_bookmarks in WP 2.1
Gosh, a lot of missing. The images.. The header images are missing.
1) If you want to add another one: /theme/plainbox/sub-content.php — Just change the “display: none” to “display: block” or remove the whole string.
2) I don’t exactly know what you mean; but I had a similar problem. What I did is: went to Options -> flickrRss (in the sub-menu), then into the Before/After edit-boxes i wrote and in the after.
3) Your blogroll is empty because you haven’t set the categories property yet (I’m guessing). Go to Manage -> Comments; select all the boxes, make a new category called “Blogroll” and make sure to move all your links into this Category.
Hope this works out for you.

Even if i’m almost a newbee the customization has been very simple so far, though, i’ve encountered a problem: may sound stupid, but my sidebar shows just the “Recent Posts” category. I can’t manage to add the other voices listed above!
I’ve installed the requested plugins and activated them, then tried to install the code manually into the sidebar.. but i guess this wasn’t really the meant way, as the stylesheet doesn’t apply..
Help’d be really, really appreciated!
